ROLOS - A work in progress

The last ROLOS Newsletter was sent out over a month ago. Since that time we have installed 6 new versions. Most of the new changes have to do with how ROLOS functions behind the scenes. However, there are a few changes that we believe will greatly benefit you. Those changes are listed later in this newsletter.

Why you should order supplies through ROLOS

There are many advantages to ordering supplies through ROLOS. Some are just way better than all the rest. Below is a list of reasons why you should order online.
  • Internet Only Specials!
  • Orders over $175 receive a FREE gift.
  • Orders placed on Friday receive a FREE gift.
  • View your order status as it flows through the procurement process.
  • Less room for error since you control the order from beginning to end.
  • Suggested product replacements are shown to offer choices and save you money.
WHAT'S NEW:

Color Scheme Changes in ROLOS

Earlier today we modified the color scheme in ROLOS to reflect Halloween. This change was made in order to add a little spice to your online experience for the month of October. If you would prefer to not see this color scheme then you may choose a new one from the ROLOS login page. The option you need to select upon login is Site Style. Input your User ID, Password, and select a Site Style to see ROLOS in a whole new light.

NOTE:  If ROLOS has been customized to show your corporate color scheme then you will not be able to choose any other color scheme.

Programming changes make for a better online experience

  • Improved login speed
  • Added "Add to Favorites" link on all ordering pages
  • Fixed Contact Page - For a few weeks emails were not being sent or received

How to use Favorites List

The Favorites List feature, in ROLOS, has been the hardest thing for our clients to master. One request we have received over and over again is for the ability to add an item to a favorites list while an order is being generated. This capability is now available but a few things need to be setup by you before you can benefit from the full functionality of the favorites list feature. Below is a very detailed description on how you can create a Favorites List with Categories.
  1. SETTING UP FAVORITE LIST CATEGORIES
    • Go to the Favorites menu and select "Setup Categories". You can setup 26 Categories & groupings.
    • Now, type in a listing of catagories that you would like to group product by.
      • Note: Categories can be people names, machine names, or product types like pens, paper, & furniture.
      • If a catagory is not setup then products added to a list will be dropped into CAT A and Description "New Catagory".
      • If you create a catagory and want to rename it then feel free to do so at any time.
      • If a catagory is "Deleted" then all products assigned to that catagory will be deleted as well.

  2. ADDING ITEMS TO A CATAGORY
    • There are two ways to add items to a favorite list category.
      • Build a list from scratch.
      • Build a list as you build an order.
    • Building a list from scratch works that same way as the Quick Order screen.
      • Go to the Favorites menu and select "Add/Edit Items"
      • Located at the top middle of the screen choose a catagory to add products to.
      • Next, enter the item number of a product that you would like in the Category.
      • Now you should see the product detail and several text/input boxes.
        1. You do not need to use any of the text/input boxes, but you can.
        2. "Your Sort Code or Special Number" is used to sort items within a Category.
        3. "Comments for this item" can be used to describe who or what this product is for.
        4. "Default Qty" is used to default the item to a specific reorder quantity.
      • Finally, if the item is okay to add to your Category then press Enter on your keyboard or select the button that says "Accept Entries".
    • Building a list while you build an order.
      • Adding items to a Category while you build an order can be done from the following web pages.
        1. Browse Catalog
        2. Company History
        3. Corporate Item List
        4. Inventory Closeout Special
        5. View/Edit
        6. Submit Order
      • Enter a product code or search for a product to add to the favorites list Category.
      • When a product appears there will be a link on the right side of the page, under "Your Price", that says "Add to Favorites".
      • Click the "Add to Favorites" link and a new window will pop-up.
        1. You do not need to use any of the text/input boxes, but you can.
        2. "Your Sort Code or Special Number" is used to sort items within a Category.
        3. "Comments for this item" can be used to describe who or what this product is for.
        4. "Default Qty" is used to default the item to a specific reorder quantity.
      • Finally, located at the top middle of the screen choose a Category to add this product to or press the button that says "Accept Entries".
      • The item is added to the list that is shown, the pop-up window goes away, and you are now returned to your order.
